I thought the man bra was sometimes called 'the bro'. Hopefully, you'll never need to wear one. Although now you've got me wondering how you'd look in one.:)

Excellent post, Danny! As your friendly neighborhood wordbender, I would just add that the word "bra" didn't make its appearance in English until the mid 1930s, albeit as an abbreviation of brassiere, which was borrowed from French around 1910. However, the French word, which originated in the 17th century, when it simply meant "bodice," appears to have been an alteration of and earlier, Old French word "braciere," which referred to a piece of armour for the arm or wrist. Okay, now my eyes are glazing over. How did we get from wrist armour to, well, body armour? ;)
