NASA and me

NASA, Houston Texas.

Well it’s that time of day again, when we take that long contemplative look at the trip, reflect, and drive to the next spot.

Today I found myself at NASA’s Houston Command Center. Ever since I reached the age of self awareness, around 19 or 20, I’ve wondered about human beings abilty to accomplish.

It wasnt till today at NASA that I understood what “anything is possible” meant.

250,000 gallons of liquid nitrogen mixed with 250,000 gallons of liquid oxegen sprayed into a motor that reminds me more of my first apartment then a motor creating thousands upon thousands of pounds of thrust, sending a rocket that’s around 300 feet long into space…

Then docking with a station that’s going 17,500 mph or Mach 25.

It boggles the mind. Nay, it erases any idea that I have about the human races ability to “get her done”

Interesting side note:

When you are floating in space the liquids in your body float around too, causing your face to be puffy and your sinus’s to be filled. This kills your ability to smell and taste.

As a consequence hot sauce and pepper are gaurded and coveted so much that when the space stations commander is releaved they pass hot sauce to the new commander.

It’s funny that with all the mastery of space and the physical world around us, that something so simple could become that batton of leadership.

We are human we are great now give me some hot sauce…
